I heard an interesting argument for increasing legal immigration on the Nightly Business Report today; immigrants can save social security. Social security is based on children paying for their parents, but Baby Boomers didn’t breed like their parents, creating the shortfall to come. Eric Schurenberg of Bnet.com thinks we can solve the problem by importing children--educated, highly trained children who can fill skilled jobs we don’t seem to be able to.
